Action Alert is a functional, production-ready PWA for structured emergency notifications and incident coordination. It is ready for county-wide and nationwide demos. Action Alert complements existing county systems; it does not replace CAD, GIS, or official dispatch platforms.
What it does
- Sends structured alerts and status updates to responders and command staff.
- Runs in the browser on phones and desktops (PWA and Command Center).
- Provides a shared mission feed and timeline for situational awareness.
- Queues updates when a device is offline and syncs when connectivity returns.
What it does not do
- Does not predict events or make automated dispatch decisions.
- Does not replace county GIS, radio, or primary CAD systems.
- Does not require a separate app store install for the responder PWA.

Live API and WebSocket features require the host API and tunnel during scheduled demos.

Five-minute demo script
- Open Command Center and sign in when Identity is enabled.
- Create a mission and assign a responder unit.
- On a phone, open the Responder PWA and allow location if prompted.
- Change status: Available → En route → On scene.
- Confirm the Command feed updates within a few seconds.
- Optional: test offline queue and reconnect sync.
Before a live demo, confirm simulation is OFF. Do not use ?demo on production URLs.
